This week i have gathered more footage and continued to edit my footage, to ensure that my music video draft will meet its deadline.

Second draft, Music Video, watch in HD.

This is my second draft of my music video, i am happy with the progress i am making on my video and intend to have it finished soon. I like that black and white contrast however may add some colour later within my editing. I have received some feedback -

Ciara Murphy - "Video look very professional so far and includes a good range of angles and shots, the editing is superb. However could include some more narrative"

Kaleem Richards - "The video is very intriguing so far and includes some diverse shots and editing, look forward to seeing it when its finished"

Charlie Slade - "The video is very visually pleasing"

Overall i am very happy with the feedback i have received so far and will take the constructive comments on board to improve my video to the best of my ability.

Over the half term i started to film my music video, i did this by using the artificial arm i had made and filmed a few short scenes that will be included in my music video.

Last lesson i began the task 'research into the relevant music genre and will be finishing the task off today as i had a few problems narrowing my genre to something i could define and describe.

In todays lesson i completed a new and updated mood board as i believe my last mood board did not meet all the requirements i feel that related to my genre as well as ideas for a music video. The new moodboard features more images and a larger range of what i think will relate to my target audience.

In todays lesson i researched my chosen artist Rizzle Kicks, I looked through their past, how they made it and their achievements such as chart hits. I also researched into many of their music videos as they relate to what i want to achieve in my own music video.

Music Videos That Influence Me

Whilst browsing through music video's trying to gather ideas for my music video i stumbled across a music video by Rizzle Kicks called Prophet, found this music video interesting as it uses a well known technique called stop motion which is the use of pictures to create a video, in Rizzle Kicks' case almost a 1000 images.

Wikepedia: 'Stop motion (also known as stop frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Dolls with movable joints or clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of repositioning. Stop motion animation using plasticine is called clay animation or "clay-mation". Not all stop motion requires figures or models; many stop motion films can involve using humans, household appliances and other things for comedic effect.' 

However Rizzle Kicks has adapted this into their own style creating a surreal ghost like video which is very watchable and appealing to the eye's, therefore an idea i may use for my own video.

Diary Entry 10.

In todays lesson I researched music channels and decided to research on MTV as it has a wide range of channels and displays many genres. In my analysis of MTV i looked up a few channels that are distruibuted in the UK and what they all show for example MTV Rocks shows alternative rock and MTV Base shows base music and so on. I researched the first concepts of the channel as well as the new concepts and last of all the first music video shown on the channel.

How Society Influences bands such as Rizzle Kicks.

This a rather short analysis of how the hit band Rizzle Kicks have been influenced by society and how his not only effects there look but there music. I have highlighted points such as who they are, who they have collaborated with, where they are from, who they looked up to, there music style, there clothing style and there genre and how they demographically relate this to a huge audience.

In today's lesson i filmed a short clip on how Rizzle Kicks have been influenced and why they suit the genre they produce being contemporary hip hop. The short video included a few facts about the band, where they where from, how they made it and what influenced them such as bands and styles.

Ideas for my Music Video Setting.

These are a few images of what i want my setting to be like in my music video, i have chosen an urban setting based in London called brick lane. However when i film it i want it to be alot busier with the hustle and bustle of London being portrayed. I believe this setting will relate to my genre as it is very 'now-day' and postmodern as it heavily relates to my chosen artists and genre.

In today's lesson i began planning for my music video. I started to gather ideas for costumes and what i want my band to be wearing. I researched certain bands such as Rizzle Kicks and The Drums and looked at my genre in order to find the perfect outfits that would relate to my target audience demographically.

Today i decided to start making a piece of equipment i will be using in my music video, i started my quest to build an arm to make an effect on the camera as if its pointing at my face, i used three pieces of wood a few screws a drill some rope and common sense. The arm came along quickly and works how ever a few adjustments may be made.
